Snickers Slice

This dairy free/vegan Snickers slice is an easy to make, delicious treat for those with dairy intolerances, vegans or those who are interested in a healthier alternative to store bought chocolate treats.

Ingredients

Chocolate

  • 1 cup virgin coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup natural cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup natural maple syrup

Caramel

  • 1 cup pitted dates
  • 3 tbsp agave nectar
  • 2 tbsp almond butter
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 11/2 tsp vanilla extract

Extra ingredients

  • 1 cup roasted peanuts

Method

Place chocolate ingredients in the food processor and blend until smooth (stopping at times to scrape down the sides).
Set aside.
Place all caramel ingredients into your food processor and blend until smooth (stopping at times to scrape down the sides).
Cover a baking tray with baking paper, and then cover the backing paper lined tray with a fair layer of chocolate.
Layer in caramel and top with peanuts.
Add one final layer of chocolate completely covering the top.
Place in freezer for one hour.
Remove from freezer and slice.
A tip is to store this in the freezer as it is best served frozen.
